JACQUELINE MITCHELL
I created this module in response to a client's request for education around a new composting initiative called Stop. Think. Sort. The module needed to be applicable to existing employees, who were struggling with when to use the proper bins. It also needed to be applicable to new hires in their onboarding curriculum.
I decided to design a game to build excitement around the program but also make learning fun for the new employees. For this Articulate Storyline project, I started with the Multiple Choice template. I used a number variable to calculate each correct response, then assigned every score to a radio button that operated outside of the learner's view. This allowed the game to act like a quiz. For instance, if a learner received a score of 10, a trigger would move to the radio button with a point value of 10. Since the interaction was a quiz template, it allowed a standard report out of Score Points and Pass Points. At 10 points, the learner would need to play again. Passing results were reported to the LMS.
After rollout of this module, the client estimated a 50% reduction of improper bin usage.
